Michael "Mike" Sands lived in the Oklahoma City area all of his life. He attended Putnam City Schools for all 13 of his years of school and graduated from Putnam City West in 1996. He was an outstanding football player and wrestler while at Western Oaks Junior High and PC West. Mike attended OSU-Okmulgee where he earned an associate degree and became a certified GM mechanic. He had an incredible mind when it came to car engines. He could just listen to an engine and diagnose what was wrong with it. Mike really enjoyed being knowledgeable on a wide-range of subjects. Mike loved anything that was mechanical as he understood the complexity and engineering.
In honor of Mike's academic career, the Michael Sands Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a PC West student whose interest is to pursue a degree in automotive services or engineering. For complete details and to apply online click here
