The Putnam City Schools Foundation is pleased to announce that five people have been named 2019 Golden Apple Award winners.
This year’s recipients are: Dianna Carter, volunteer & substitute teacher at Putnam City North High School; Judy Hohne, volunteer at Harvest Hills Elementary; Jae Miller, social worker at Wiley Post Elementary; Herb Nelson, assistant chief of the Putnam City Campus Police Department; and Tony Shoemaker, financial secretary at Rollingwood Elementary.
The recipients and their families were treated to a special reception prior to being recognized at the school board meeting held April 1.
“We are proud to honor these exceptional people for their dedication to our students and patrons,” said Jennifer Seal, president of the Foundation. Seal also expressed her gratitude to Independent Insurance Agents of Greater Oklahoma City for sponsoring this and other recognition programs for district teachers and staff.
The Golden Apple is awarded annually to individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to excellence in education. It is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon patrons and staff in the Putnam City School District.
