FOUNDATION GEARING UP FOR WALL OF FAME CELEBRATION
The Putnam City Schools Foundation is pleased to announce its upcoming Wall of Fame Celebration honoring Mike Mitchell. The induction and dinner will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the historic Farmers Public Market in Oklahoma City.
Mitchell is a 1988 graduate of Putnam City North High School who currently works as an animated film director in Hollywood. After graduating from the California Institute of the Arts, he began working as an animator, actor and director. DreamWorks Animation tapped him to direct Trolls and Shrek Forever After. His most recent release is The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. He credits his artistic beginnings in Putnam City as being essential to where he is today.

“Mike Mitchell’s hard work and passion for his craft are excellent examples for our students, and we are delighted to recognize his achievements on our Wall of Fame,” said Foundation President Jennifer Seal.
Started in 2004, the Wall of Fame was created to honor distinguished Putnam City alumni. Past honorees include Steve Largent, James Marsden, and Neal McCaleb. The Wall of Fame resides in the Putnam City Schools administration building as a collection of the honorees’ portraits.
In addition to the induction of the honoree, the event will recognize Putnam City’s teachers of the year and highlight various programs in the district. Guests will be entertained by the Putnam City West High School Jazz Band and have the opportunity to support the Foundation’s work by participating in a drawing for fantastic items, including a John Hardy silver and black sapphire bracelet donated by B.C. Clark Jewelers.
Proceeds from the event will support key Foundation initiatives including YES! Grants for classroom teachers, English language literacy courses for parents, and the Early Birds school readiness program.
The community is invited to attend and tickets are available now at www.pcf4kids.org or by calling the Foundation office at 405-495-5200 ext. 1205.
