The Putnam City Schools Foundation is proud to be part of honoring the best teachers, volunteers, staff members and principals in our district who spend countless hours ensuring our children have a world-class education that prepares them to be global citizens. To that end, we celebrate their efforts through several awards and recognition programs highlighted here. The Golden Apple is our district’s highest honor. It is awarded annually to a group of people who have demonstrated their dedication to excellence in education. Winners can be anyone who is helping our children in some capacity.

Selection is made by a committee comprised of individuals from the district, organized according to the Golden Apple Bylaws. Winners each receive the engraved golden apple as well as a cash award from the Foundation.

The Putnam City School Board honors these winners at a meeting preceded by a reception held in their honor for family and friends.

Nominations for the 2020 Golden Apple Awards will open in January 2020 and are typically due to the Foundation office the last business day in February. Nomination forms will be available in January.
