Summer Is Here!
I know I know. It’s been here for a while for most of you, but for a couple reasons it feels like it’s just starting here at the PC Foundation. We wrapped up Wall of Fame, wrapped up the fiscal year, and are now working to prepare for events taking place upon our return from vacations. It is hard to fathom that school is starting again in little over a month!
During the “lull” of summer, the PC Foundation takes time to reflect and plan. We clean out files — both paper and electronic. We evaluate recent events in light of their successes and failures. We refresh our communications pieces for a new year. But this summer, we’re doing more!
We are helping with the Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet (scheduled for August 20th), which includes 12 talented inductees. The PC Foundation is so proud to partner with the PC Athletics Council Booster Club to highlight the effect that sport has on our children’s lives! Learn more about this year’s class of inductees and get tickets here https://pcf4kids.org/events/athletics-banquet.
We also get to help with Convocation August 6th, which is a big meeting that all our teachers attend before school starts. It is part pep-rally, part information session, and part family reunion. We have booth space available for local businesses to share their work with the staff. If this sounds like something that would benefit your business, please reach out to me directly for more information.
In the midst of this, we will be onboarding three new people to run the Communities and Schools Together program as CAST Liaisons. We have two stellar employees so far, and are still looking for one more. If you are interested in a rewarding part-time position, read the job description https://pcf4kids.org/about-us/careers/.
You would think that is enough to keep us busy — and you would be right, but there are several smaller things we are focused on too: the golf tournament coming up end of September and our brand new eSports tournament taking place beginning of November (MUCH more on that later!).
No rest for those who want to ensure our teachers and students have the best experience in 2021-22. Join us and Sow Big Dreams!
