Pretty Lucky in Putnam City
I want to praise our district leadership for a minute because it is the season of gratitude and you all know how important that value is to us at the PC Foundation.
We are lucky to have such a strong relationship with the district leaders. Being housed at the administration building, it is easy for us to get information from people on how to best support our schools.
We can ask questions of clarification on YES! Grants to any of the curriculum staff. We often get help from the IT department when something goes wonky with our computer system. The front desk’s Debra welcomes our guests and helps them find their way to the Foundation. Our site manager, Vanessa, brings us boxes when we need to mail out eSports tournament packages. The business office helps us fax things as well as managing our automatic payroll deduction program, Friends of the Foundation. Many people have from the administration building stop by when we need volunteers on a mail out. Others just feed us!
We are also lucky to have good relationships with the Superintendent’s team. They let me speak at principals' meetings, brainstorm ways we can support their teams, and collaborate with us on new initiatives.
Also helpful is the support we get from the Putnam City School Board. Often at a board meeting, one of the members mentions the Foundation’s help in a particular area. I get emails from them and even visits to just say hello.
All these connections add up to big wins for Putnam City students and staff. Being cordial is one thing, but our people seem to value the PC Foundation more as the years go on. That just spells success for our efforts to help. It is a growing and symbiotic relationship that will continue to pay dividends as we nurture it.
Thank you to Dr. Rhodes and the board who allow us to be in close proximity to these leaders who not only talk about how they value our work, but put action behind those words.
We exist only to serve Putnam City and it is truly an honor to do so.
