Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper graduated from Putnam City High School in 1949 as Salutatorian of his class and president of the Honor Society. Always an outstanding athlete, he was a member of both the All-State Basketball and All-State track teams. He lettered in football and played in the band. He was also an Eagle Scout.

He is the founder and chairman of The Cooper Aerobics Center, a world-renowned health and fitness complex located in Dallas, Texas. Recognized for more that three decades through his writings and research as the leader of the international fitness revolution, Cooper is credited with motivating more people to exercise in pursuit of good health than any other person. A 450-person staff at the Cooper Aerobics Center shares Dr. Cooper’s mission to educate and encourage optimum health in as many segments of the population as possible.

Dr. Cooper received a B.S. Degree and a M.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma, a Masters of Public Health degree from Harvard University School of Public Health, and is certified by the American Board of Preventative Medicine. During his 13 years in military service he worked with the Aeronautics Space Administration in conditioning American’s astronauts for space.
