CareShare was established in 1982 by former Putnam City counselor, Penny Poe to meet a growing need among students and families in the Putnam City Schools.
Throughout the year, CareShare provides new shoes and new or gently used coats to students who cannot otherwise afford them. CareShare has also taken on the role of Santa during the holidays, ensuring that no child goes without a gift to unwrap on Christmas morning. Since its inception, this program has helped more than 10,000 students.
CareShare is run by volunteers who see the need and want to help the students in the Putnam City Schools.
