Putnam Pooches

It came to me in the middle of the night- like a flash of genius inspiration. Unfortunately, it wasn’t anything too earth-shattering; it won’t feed any hungry people or put a roof over anyone’s head, but it will make people smile, unless they have no heart. I’m talking about the Putnam Pooches contest the Putnam City Schools Foundation is hosting during the month of July.

Before I go any farther, please don’t send us any complaint letters because the contest doesn’t mention your pet hamster or iguana or kitten. You find some Putnam City alliteration for those animals, and then maybe we can try that in the future. This one is for the dogs, not the birds.

We are asking all dog owners to share a favorite picture of your dogs of all ages and breeds by visiting our homepage and uploading the image of your #putnampooch. Please, only one entry per pooch. However, pawrents with multiple canine kids are encouraged to enter them all!

Maybe your Pomeranian is wearing a Pirate costume, or your Welsh Corgi is wearing Wildcat colors. Or maybe they’re just darn cute all on their own. Either way, send us the best pictures you have and make sure to like our Facebook page so you can catch your pet on our feed. We’ll be featuring the photos all month long with opportunities to vote on your favorite #putnampooch from August 1-3. The picture that receives the most votes will win a dog prize package valued at $65 from Putnam City’s newest grooming salon Affectionate Grooming located at 40th and MacArthur. The package includes toys, dog treats, a collar, and a gift certificate for grooming! The winner will be announced, via our Facebook page, on August 4.

We are so excited to see these cute pictures, and hope that they will bring a smile to the Putnam City community. No, it’s not changing the world, just changing your attitude, one puppy face at a time.
